Why is the media supporting Shanker Group?

Some of our corrupt media like the Kantipur wallahs and the 12 bhais are supporting the Shanker Group folks even though the CBI has found a link between Deepak Bhatta and the Agrawals when it comes to shady business dealings. According to our sources, it seems that even our former Prime Ministers and high-ranking hakims have used these people to launder money overseas.

Kantipur wants to highlight the fact that Shanker Group has been in business for more than 90 years in this country. Maybe they should also state that these folks have managed to make billions of Rupees in profit through tax evasion, under-reporting their profits and many other shady acts by bribing whoever was in power for the past 90 years.

They employ 15,000 folks and have an annual turnover of more than Rs 100+ billion Rupees. Well, that's great but just because you employ thousands of folks and pay them exploitative wages doesn't give you a free pass to carry out illegal activities and break the law.

And our media tells us that they have bank loans of more than Rs 780 million, and if they are arrested and sent to prison, then these bank loans are in jeopardy. I don't think so unless our commercial banks gave them loans for free without any collateral or if the land used as collateral is not adequate to pay off the loans. Then we need to go after those who approved the loans, not worry about if our banks will fail because they won't. It's not like our banks have their 90% of deposits loaned out to these folks.

The Chairperson of Shanker Group has been let go after a few days of detention, and now his son Sulav is in custody. This is the same 'Sulav' who was arrested during Covid, trying to sell thermal guns for five times more than he paid, while driving around town with the product in a blue-plated vehicle, as he was some Honorary Consul for some foreign country then.

The lesson we learned then was that even if you are worth Billions of Rupees, you should think small and still make a profit of a few lakhs, even if it means selling thermal guns for a 500% profit MARGlN.

The Hilton Hotel, which burned during the Gen Z protest, belongs to Shanker Group. Most of us know that the Deubas had invested their dough in this hotel through Deepak Bhatta and other folks. Dil Bhusan Pathak has been given a clean chit by the courts about his report regarding this matter. We just need to make sure Deepak Bhatta and the Agrawals squeal or else the courts will say there is no evidence of the Deubas using these folks to launder their money.

And it's not only poor old Deuba but also Oli and Prachanda and hundreds of netas and thousands of hakims who could be arrested and charged with corruption if we can get to the bottom of this Bhatta-Agrawal connection if we can make them spill the beans and then our Balen government will go down in history as the most couragerous government Nepal has ever had in its 260 years of existence.
