you can call and ask if you have valid reasons like health check up, meeting some ill person, etc etc . we migrated us last year but not on b1 b2 visa at that time there was very limited interview slots . we called and email embassy and requested for early appointment and our excuse was my wife work schedule . since she was scheduled to work on healthcare facility, interview and visa was granted .
