Has anyone travelled to/from Nepal from/to USA with a handwritten passport recently and if there was a problem anywhere in transit including Qatar, London and port of entry in USA? Per Nepalese Embassy Website, the MRP passport is issued only after the existing passport is expired or lost.
In light of recent news about the Qatar govt. returning or denying entry to all hand written passport holder, I was cautious about travel.
Also when traveling via Qatar, there is a transit in which one has to leave the airport to stay in hotel during transit.
Per news, even in Nepal Airport, people carrying handwritten passport are getting trouble in own country since the staff at TIA were trying to read handwrittten passport in MRP reading machine.

I went there a year back and i had no problem with a hand written passport. Most of the ppl in Qatar knows that our passport is not machine readible. Well The only problem I faced was regarding my luggage which i wouldnt call it a problem. They had a hard time figuring out where to go and had to manually type it in. Thats about it. After they enter the destination and gives you the boarding passes you are set to go. Its the same thing with other places you have your transit in. But i never went off the airport during my transit so I have no idea how the processes are on that. But yes, after the lugguage is on the airplane or send from USA, all I did was checked on the place where my transit was just to be sure.
Im glad that everything fell into place and didnt have any hassle whatsoever
Regards,
Mercy

Thank you guys for your response.
Riddle- ke garne. I read news even in TIA people giving hard time to handwritten passport holders by scanning handwritten passport in MRP passport machine. I haven't travelled since last five years. Things are changing. So just thought to check before making big plan.
