Umesh,

Thank you for your kind words.I myself is very new to
photography. I just started getting into photography maybe 6 months ago,
but everybody tells me I have a good eye for it. I do not have any SLR
camera. I have been taking pictures with my old Canon Powershot SD1000 7.1 mega pixel (it
sucks). After doing lot of research I am planning to buy Cannon XSI sometime this
week. So, I am very excited about it.

Your blog looks very
interesting. It has lot of helpful tips on camera. I am definitely going
to visit more often. You have great pictures... looks
professional.

Regarding landscape---its depends which part you
are in. Virgina has a beautiful landscape. If you are close to DC area,
try to explore Shenandoah
national park
, Great Fall Park or just do some google
search for hiking trails
and explore it. Please be careful if you are going on your own and make
sure you have right gear with you. I try to go on hike every week if
its possible with school work. I have been trying to catch up with my
blogs. I still have another 10 more hiking pictures to add which I did
few months ago. Last month I traveled to Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and Death Valley National Park.
I am going to post blogs and picture on them in coming weeks. please
feel free to check it out.
If you have any advice for camera or
photography, please share with me.

good luck with your passion.

you

Hi Bibek,
To be honest with you, I have never used Canon camera in my life. So it wouldn't be wise for me to say good or bad things about canon camera. And I think you already decided to buy Canon. My first DSLR was Nikon D60 which was pretty much good camera. And now I am using D90.

When you buy camera, mainly see feedback about that camera first. What's the lens type it can hold, battery life and censor type. It's obvious that more expensive you buy, more good camera will be. Now it depends on how much is your budget?

If you are open budget, then go with VR lens which is good for taking picture during trekking. It avoids camera shake during shooting. BTW Canon is pretty good brand for DSLR camera.

Regards,
Umesh

Umesh, how good are you at manual operation of your camera? bbsingh, you really are a photographer. You can visit block island or newport where you can take beautiful pictures.

JayNir,
I don't consider myself as an expert. I am still learning it. But I do use manual settings most of the time when I am shooting outdoor, specially when there is serious lighting condition ( too bright or too dark ), When taking picture of fireworks and when taking fast moving objects.

I have also posted some of manual settings technique in my blog. I think you would have noticed if you have visited my blog. My blog address is here for your info.
