As a naturalized U.S. Citizen I am traveling to Nepal soon. Will there be any issue with me holding two passports, one U.S. and the other Nepali (not expired yet)? I am planning on getting the Visa on arrival, and on the form it asks where I hold any other passport (including the U.S.). I am worried if there will be any problems saying yes or no.

If you say yes, u will encounter alot of immigration trouble as Nepal bans dual citizenship. U automatically lost ur Nepalese citizenship after acquiring US passport i.e. Carrying Nepalese passport as a US cituzen is illegal in Nepal. Say No, enter and exit using US Passport. Do not use or do not even carry Nepalese Passport.

Thnx for the reply. Would they notice that I have not returned my Nepali passport? I mean I will never use it but I really haven't had the time to find out where to return it.

They won't notice that u have not returned ur Nepalese passport. There will be problem only if u use ur Nepalese pp. The actuall process is that u should file an application for renouncing ur Nepalese citizenship to Nepalese embassy or Nepalese consulate accompanied by ur original Nepalese PP and/or Citizenship certificate. I wonder how many do that. So just keep using ur US pp and never use Nepalese pp and u won't run into any issues.

Since Nepali passport doesn't contain a chip that contains info about you (https://www.facebook.com/pages/United-States-passport/142425979107720), they won't be able to figure anything out.

Its best to get visa and only use your US pp in Nepal. In India, you can use Nepali pp.

do not use your nepali passport if u want to stay out of trouble. don't even carry it when you travel. nepal does not recognize dual citizenship.
