Topic: "Hasya byanga ra sangit ko mahatwo" Maha Jodi ra kalakar saathi haru sanga ramailo guff-gaff Speaker: Madan Krishna Shrestha, Hari Bansha Acharya, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Kunti Moktan, Nabin Bhattarai* (Note: Nabin Bhattarai may not be able to attend due to prior commitment elsewhere) Date: August 1, Friday Time: 7:15-9:00PM Location: Room 105, William James Hall, 33 Kirkland St., Harvard University, Cambridge Synopsis: More often than not, the great performers are as inaccessible as the stars in the sky - visible and inspiring but light years away. We see them on stages or on silver screens, music vidoes or TV series, but hardly get to sit with them and experience their humanity - relate to them as human beings with emotions and thoughts, blood and flesh. Why do they what they do? What inspires them - love, money, fame etc. Tomorrow we will travel those light years in a second and sit with the greatest stars of the Nepali Galaxy. Come and talk to them and let them know how much you appreciate them. It will help you appreciate their performance more. MaHa Jodi are great not only because of their satirical hasya-banga which have served as socio-political commentary for the last couple of decades but also for their direct contribution to social work and understanding of humanity. Also present will be Kunti Moktan, a vocalist par-excellence, and the rising stars Ram Krishna Dhakal and Nabin Bhattarai.
