Nepalese king bans press freedom

Police in riot gear are everywhere
Nepal's media has been subjected to total censorship, as part of emergency measures announced by King Gyanendra. Reports critical of the state of emergency declared on Tuesday have been banned for six months, according to a notice in the main daily newspaper.

and most of us here in USA don't care about press freedom and violation of human rights in Nepal.

Press freedom?
Freedom to become associated and affliated?
example:
The Raising Nepal --> Government
The Kantipur daily --> India
etc.
Now what kind of freedom are we talking about here? Freedom to write the truth? Comeon, you are making me laugh -- that freedom doesn't exist anymore.

And what is "freedom of press" got to do with "human rights"? Could you please elaborate and write an essay on that? I am curiously curious here. thanks.
