The movie LITTLE BUDDHA(PG) broadcasted form charter cable through channel 710 S-CIN in Starz Cinema on April 8,2006 shows the birth of Buddha took place in INDIA.In spite of knowing the fact that buddha was born in NEPAL,the hollywood (the movie) showed that it took place iin India. All the places shown in this movie are from Nepal but the featutred Models are Indians and the langue they speak in times are also hindi. Why does this happen all the time? Does the person or the producer who made this movie dont know that Lord Buddha was bron in Nepal?. He was Born in Lumbini! I truly appreciate in making a film on Lord Buddha but the wrong information it broadcated was a shame! It not only get into nerves of all the Nepali people but it directly affects the mentality of all the international people knowing that Lord Buddha was literaly bron in India and he started his path of enlighnment from India

It's a pity. It seems to me that we nepalese are too much considerate over our so called neighboring country at times. We just listen and watch, and they do whatever they want, be it right or wrong. I have also heard that the primary school textbook in india says that Buddha was born in India. Indian kids learn what they are taught, its the education system and the government of india who are to be blamed. Once, back in Nepal, as far as I remember, a group of students' delegation went to the ministry of information to clear this fact to the Indian government and make the amendment in their text book. But I never heard or read about that afterwards. It's a shame that they are spreading wrong information all over the world through all possble media, but even more shameful are we, who just watch and see things happening before us.

Please go through the following sites. The Indian dhotis have been claiming that Buddha was born in India NOT IN Nepal ignoring the UNESCO world heritage list where it is clearly mentioned that Buddha was born in Nepal. http://www.toshalisands.com/buddha/ http://orissamatters.com/news/index.php/2003/11/13/buddha-and-jaydev-both-are-oriyas-by-birth http://www.rediff.com/news/2002/sep/16spec.htm
