“Aaudai jadai” fame singer Sarun tamrakar has refused to sing in a Nepali organised program. NRN Australia approached the vocalist of Uglyz band, to perform in a program they are organising in 29th April at Darling harbour in association with Royal Nepalese consulate in Sydney. Mr. Tamrakar flatly refused the request saying he wouldn’t sing for free. The program is being organised to showcase Nepal and promote Nepal in general. Since NRN is affiliated with no political faith and not a profit making organisation NRN’s deeply disappointed. It is for the noble cause and his participation would have made it easier to attract more Nepali to take part in the event.

Just one correction. I understand Sarun is permanent resident of Australia. So you are a bit out of line here.

But I agree that if the event is meant for charity, he should find some time to contribute. But I would not say he must. It's upto him and we should respect his choice.

In my opinion, if the organization is collecting money for the show for any cause. They should pay singer as they would pay the venue, sound system bla bla bla..If the singer decides to contribute certain percentage of his payment to that same noble cause that is good if not that is his choice. He is not your everyday local singer now. He is a pretty big rock star and it is ok for him to behave like one. Nepali haru je pani freema khojne.

Nepalese tend to take other nepalese for granted.

Sarun is in Australia. I think he lives there and studied there. But then he knows what NRN is and usually in such programs everyone sings from free. That is the best thing about our get togethers. I am sure even the organizers are working for free.

So, it is just the pride of being a singer i think. BUt there is no harm in singing for 5 mins for free when he is there.

I don't think sarun has got that much image in Nepali pop music that he cannot sing for free. I can give you the name of my more than 10 friends who got better voice than his and will sing for all nepalese and for free. What is money infront of our mother NEPAL? I kick a million dollar in his face for not calling himself a Nepali. After all, he is a citizen of different country and I don't protest his decision coz I don't consider him NEPALI. I don't care even if he f*$K his mother or sister coz he is not a Nepali.

Rum how are you sure that if your friend also become popular like sarun, he is going to sing for free..of course he is a good singer and its profession...all singer sings for money...........if your friends are that good in singing why don't you tell them to sing so that we can listen the song in cybersansar...

how do u guys type so well in nepali ??

atleast for me personally me it is soo hard to type in English- Nepali and ofcourse much harder to read English-nepali. By english nepali i mean something like "timro naam ke ho? mero naam lato boy ho."

wouldnt it be easier to write something like "What is your name, my name is ......."

If you want something, you should know how to ask. If the function was for a noble cause you should be able to convince others. If Sarun refuses to sing I would say that is the failure of the organizers to communicate/convince. Its up to Sarun to either accept or refuse the proposal. Its pathetic on how the organizers demand service and try to humiliate a singer for refusing to accept their request.

Surendras, I tell you what, "quit expecting too much from anybody"(I'm quoting this assuming that you guys either didn't think that he'll say "NO" or you guys didn't ask him early enough loosing your vital negoitiating time) and yeah dude be more professional negotiating.
I think Sarun was smart and confident (in his singing ability) enough to say "NO" for your free ride...
