Hi there guys and gals,

I need your help in this: Does anyone know how to make the thread on the cone of the attached photo using Solidwork ? I am sure people who are well conversed with software should have no problem.

I am hoping that some one can provide me with a step by step solution to this.

Thanks

i. Try revolution feature.( if you want to make a a solid model and a drawing).

ii. for manufacturing purpose, go and ask the machinist what they need and just write a note in your drawing what they need.

but, if it is the thread you want to make , it is pain in the rear. ther is an option where you can change the angle of the helix, just like in solid extrusion. You can make a tapered helix. At the end of the helix make the cross section of the thread. Sweep the cross section along the helix.

But, if you want the drawing for manufacturing purpose. Stick to the easy way. Add notes to your drawing.

ok, ok.. I give up !! I know there will be no people responding this with the solution. I am wondering if the people out there are plain selfish, lazy, ignorant or genuinly does know the solution.

nepali dude, i m not sw guy but i have sw at home so i spent some time. It displays good for cylindrical face but due to some reason that crap doesnt appear in conical solid drawint though it exists there. But it comes perfect in orthographic drawing. Image is here, if u think it is ok, i will tell you the procedure.
chill out!
