Riten, exactly...You just said what I've been trying to explain to these morons all along. The whole thing should've been done away from the eyes of the media AND THE PASSENGERS...This incident is gonna cost Nepal Airlines dearly as their reliability has just tanked down the meter to -0. Will anyone not familiar with Nepali cuture ever fly this airline? After reading the article, certainly not!!

oys bro!amen/awomen(?;oP) to that :oD and i dunno about u(or the rest) but im trembling(yes guys tremble too!;oP err dun we?its really cold here!!no other reason!believe me!even if i do add later its cos of some other non-guyly reasons?;oP hehe) right now as the thots comes into my mind about goin back to nepal.. Scenario in my mind: the plane lands on tribhuv(w?)an airport..and as i hurriedly reach out for the exit in anticipation of being back home(at last!).. the thrill of of being surrounded by my fellow nepalese(not that im not surrounded here..it just feels diff back home :oD and most prob cos i never got to stay there long enuf to get "bored"?;oP)..family..frens and wat not ;oP..the sense of belonging i feel when the whiff of "fresh" air(saturated with dust and wat not!;oP) of kathmandu..is filtered thru the maze of jungle hair in the nostrils haha(jungle is an understatement!:oS ewwwww!haha truth makes u go ewww doesnt it? hehe) as i walk down the steps..i cant help noticing the hoards of ppl in 2 lines..dressed to their nines(nepali style!hehe) and garlands in their hands(even a priest is there on the front!) most prob waitin to welcome some dignitary that i failed to notice who had been flyin on the same plane. but to my great astonishment..even before i take the last step from the flight of stairs and onto the runaway..the priest starts approaching towards me..along with a couple of ladies(the garland girls)...the next moment showers of fragrant garlands are hanging around my neck..tika of blessing runnin down my forehead(thanks the priest!who has started to chant prayers as he walks besides me :oS hehe)... darn!*i think to myself* my parents did such a grandiose welcome?and here i was expecting a big big(never ending) lecture(that i do deserve :oS hehe) the moment i touched down!life def is full of surprises!* i tell myself while adding that*.. i shud try to appreciate all these tho its not smthing tht i enjoy :oS hehe.. just as i start gettn accustomed(very adaptable creature that i am ;oP) and baskn under the applause(everyone seems to be clapping as i proceed and the dyam priest is still walkn alongside me and chanting prayers!SHEESH!if only everyone was this serious about their jobs in nepal!;oP hehe) i overhear some conversation... (translated in english since gotta think about international readers and not cos my nep is bad and i just dunno how to write it ;oP) one voice: "so this is that boka everyone was talkn about?" another voice: "yeah...these days goats are too expensive esp since their stocks are dwindling down..all thanks to that sacrificial ceremony that took place few years ago and the clean record of the nepal airlines after that. isnt it hard to believe that since that event took place..every other airlines had some accidents..minor some might be..while nepal airlines is the only one that has a safe record!" one voice: "honta..achhamma ko kura hoina..esto pani huncha?..coincidence bhanum ki..ke bhannum? and i never thot myself as a religious/superstitious person..but now..i really dunno wat to say or think!" another voice: " same here..kya raag hoina?these days..khasi ko masu pani afford garnu ta garo cha..but i feel for those bokas..those oblivious "innocent" bokas that have no idea wat they are in for..until its too late!" one voice: "tara ke garney..vote gareyko ho..and it was decided by a landslide..bokas ko life seems is less precious to most than the goats..nepal ko animal rights pani now is considered number one in the world hoina?esp the goats rights?" another voice: ke ko rights ni..those animals only get their "rights" when it comes to sacrificial ceremonies..plus their population has really dwindled..anyways that boka who just flown in..is nearing the altar..lets stop chitchattin..and oh this boka from wat i heard was reared overseas re..no wonder it looks so fattened up..most prob ppl will think this boka is the perfect sacrifice..its hard to be a boka these day after catchn the small talk: NAHEEEEEENNNNNN!!!(which everyone hears it as "BYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" ) ------ dun mind my digression!enjoy the debating/sharing!:oD good day!:oD

IMI, DAMN FUGGIN SHIT BREATH...wtf??? When have I ever said anything condescending about your faith, dumazz? All I'm against is the animal sacrifices (which is apparantly only a small portion of hHindus practice), dick head. Yeah, I pray to God (even as you said, the NASA guys do), but DO THE NASA GUYS SACRIFICE A GOAT BEFORE SENDING A SPACE SHUTTLE INTO ORBIT? wtf? This nincompoop shit-breath's gone bonkers!! We all believe in God, but most rational people don't believe in animal sacrifices. Hell, and where did I ever ask anyone to stop their beliefs. All I'm saying IS THAT THIS SHIEET IS WRONG!! hahah and dimwit IMI says that he will buy a goat and sacrifice it in front of his car...DO IT AZZHOLE. Just make sure you do it in front of the cops and we'll have a Michael Vick case right here on sajha. hahahahah And why da fug would American Airlines even want to cut a goat in front of its plane?? Just coz you're an azzhole, doesn't mean everybody is. MAN, THE IDIOCY THIS FOOL BRINGS FORTH CRACKED ME UP BIG TIME!! hahahahah Damn, this gerbil has the comprehending abilities of a 10 year old and comes to discuss issues such as these with his maternal uncle here. hahahahha Hey, if everyone was fools like you, I'd be a billionaire by now...The low sex drive market in the US (which you have) is a hundred billion dollar business. All I gotta do is raise goats and sacrifice them to fix each buyer's impotency! hahhaha If 1 goat can fix an entire airplane, fixing 1 man's impotency is peanuts!!! hahahaha WHERE DA FUG DO WE GET SUCH SUBLIME IDIOTS HERE IN SAJHA FROM??? Its about time we tarred and feathered them all! hahahahah

I think you are missing the point - It is just a symbolic cultural event. It says they acknowledge the situation and are moving forward. From business point of view, symbolic events are done to reflect the culture they are in. Its good to preserve heritance else one day you will have no identity and will need to go to TATOO Shop to give you one.Financially its a chuck change decisions. It is the lack of cultural knowledge and your inablility to explain a symbolic event. There is nothing to be shame for. I think you are an It geek who knows nothing about management.

Low cost decision. Nice one. And one more point, Western media will always twist the headlines to downgrade and reflect other cultures as primitive. Its the big game.

DUKE1, wtf? There IS a sense of shame that we still have this shit going on as a symbolic event. Why couldn't all this be done indoors so that all this hype and media hoopla would not have materialized?? Its outright bull that the international media has made us all a laughing stock for the actions of a relative few who still practice this barbaric form of worship. Hell, every Nepali (even us non-hindus) are being ridiculed at for this "symbolic event." Most peeps I know have always known Nepal as being a peace-loving country of the Buddha and now this?? This is totally the end of the spectrum they're seeing here!! BTW, Barbaric acts such as sacrifices were a part of Christianity/Judaeism (in the Old Testament..Abraham's story) but they today are done with it. This is the modern times, and no matter what, sacrifices to appease God's will is just not justifiable anymore...Hell, did God ask us for sacrifices? If he created us all, he should come and take us back, ain't it? Who are we to destroy his creation...Aren't we rather disrespecting his will by destroying his creation?? Think about it. And sursum, ain't no point going at IMI as the fugger's got sawdust for brains.

Well who is criticizing you - give it a thought, who wage war against the world, who tried to rule the world, who practised slavery, who blew nuclear bombs. And they say they are the first world. Its just a spin. And you have been spinned. If you can eat goat than its o.k to sacrifice it - what are you going to do after that. Eat it rite ?

DUKE, which culture are you talking about? The Nepali culture?? Hell, definitely not mine or the ones I know...How many of us do such sacrifices. Not even 1% of the total population. How do I know? Just do a bit of rational math and theorize yourself as per below:
The 1% analysis above: According to the WHO, there are approx 26 million Neps. There is no way on earth that 260,000 goats could be "sacrificed" in one year (not inculding the ones butchered and sold). There are only a handful of temples where sacrifices are conducted and it is downright unfeasible that each could do ten thousand + sacrifices every year. If you think I'm wrong, find out for yourselves how FEW templee there are in Nepal that conduct animal sacrifices and inform us of your findings (I'd be able to count it in my hands).
Your rational is similar to the jihad extremists who end up making non-muslims view all Muslims as terrorists...Most Hindus (except for the ones in Nepal) haven't even seen an animal being sacrifced and they're now under the stigma of being labeled as animal sacrificers.
Damn, beware all my Nep brethren, the PETA is gonna be lounging around your neighborhood. They're gonna help the media make a Michael Vick outta you. hahahhaha BTW, sacrificing animals in front of an idol was the only way it was supoosed to be right? But in front of a plane?? Hahaha that's the icing on the cake!! No more comments!! Last edited: 07-Sep-07 12:19 PM

BBC. i AM NOT SURPRISED YOU DON'T GET THE POINT. see how U .K has preserved its monarchy, has a nation for its church - Vatican city. But goes around the world and destroys other culutre. You guys need tatoo to figure that out. It's not your fault. Media has taken over your thoughts and you have no roots.
