Hello everyone,

It has been quite a while that I am visiting sajha. Initially I found sajha as a place where I can meet Nepalese from different backgrounds, age, location and most of it, expressing themselves annonimously. There are सभ्य शालिन threads like Chautari and there are threads against some person, eg. Bhagat. There are threads of confessions, threads of information and what not. अनेकताको एकता छ साझामा।

Because of these varied topics and large number of members, the threads roll pretty fast. This thing attacted me at first. But now, it has become an addiction. बिहान उठ्यो, पहिलो कुरा नै साझा, दिनभरि पनि साझा, सुत्नु अघि पनि साझा। समय नै साझामय भएको छ। It looks like it is very difficult to get away from sajha.

But, Due to these large number of threads with racial discrimination, I have started to grow racist feeling in me. May be I had some racially discriminatory feeling inside me but sajha has definitely helped to worsen it. A sober reader of one time I cannot help myself from trying to defend, which in turn exacerbates the discriminatory feelings.

Does anyone of you also have such feeling? Is it good to talk about racial discrimination? Have the threads like in sajha made u more conscious about your race/caste/ethnicity? Have such threads ever made u think to find a better reason to defend yourself, which in turn makes u conscious of the discrimination and instigates hatred in your otherwise cool mind?

Its a human nature that one tries to defend himself and his kind whenever needed. Is it proper to generalize and tag somebody as extremist? or force somebody to extremism?

I do not want to be but.... errrr.

.. .need help.

I hear your voice, man. This part caught my attention:

"HATING quietly is worst than speaking out the

dissatisfactions. HATING is what back stabbers do. I consider him my

best friend who has gut to tell I am stinking on my face when I forget

to take shower, so that I can correct my mistakes"

This part explains something to me. You say that expressing is good? then I will start expressing, or at least think of it.
But the problem with me is, I didnt use to hate on religion/caste/region/ethnic background. So, does it worth learning these things or is it better stay away or is there any process of getting over with it without having to instigate such feeling at all?

copycat,

By all this I didnot mean whatever is happening in sajha is all good. Glad to know you do not hate based on religion/caste/region/ethnic background. But please do not start expressing just to retaliate, but to correct others' misconceptions and to put forward ur curiosities and dissatisfactions. Everything should come from head not from heart. One example of keeping issues within urself is Terai, we didnot know that they hated us to this limit that now they want separate country after 200 - 300 yrs. If they had put forward their problems years before, atleast we common people would have known and would have been able to distinguish madhesis from indians in kathmandu.

copycat if you have no issues why should you start expressing, but if you think someone is wrong correct him, if he doesnot listen, ignore him. Ours is like logne swasni ko jhagada, there may be issues but we have to maintain the love and respect we have for each other for being Nepali.
