Recently there was a newsitem in which it said 3 Sherpas were killed in the
expedition. Is this the way to treat the death of Nepalis that our Tourism
Ministry, which thrives on selling the name of the Sherpas and Mt Everest
worldwide, cannot even name those Sherpas who died? No biodata, no
obituary and nothing about how it happened.

What would have happened if the foreigners were killed? Would they
just have mentioned only in the number??

Our own government first MUST learn to treat its hardworking citizens.

I know it may not have occured to many of you when you read the news
becasue this is the way they are being treated since long.

Mirmiray....is this what you're talking about.

"At some time close to 7 AM on Friday, April 21, 2006, a major collapse occurred in the upper Khumbu Icefall on Mount Everest. Three Sherpa climbers were lost amid substantial ice debris. An extensive search was conducted in the hours following the accident. At approximately 9:30 AM the search was ended and the conclusion reached that no hope of recovery existed. Ang Phinjo Sherpa, aged 50, of Khunjung VDC ward # 9 Phortse, Solu Khumbu Nepal, Lhakkpa Tseri Sherpa of Mende, Dawa Temba Sherpa of Thamo are presumed dead."

That's right, Mansion. Thank you for posting it here.

It was just the number of Sherpas in the initial annoucement. It (the one you posted here) may be the result of several emails and phone calls to sambandhit nikaya.
