China will surely trounce them in the next Olympics if the US progresses at this rate, and I among many who denounce the biased, irritating media frenzy that is created in this country with no respect for other nations, will be there to cheer the chinkies on!

More than the team assembler, AX, those people who rejected the invitation for stupid reasons are to be blamed, as I said earlier.
But yeah, few players like Ron Artest, Houston could've helped and never got invited. There are other less known players who work fantastic as a team and are more suitable for international matches.

All in all, it was an embarassing loss. I don't support US tauntings and show offs, but this was a bad loss. I wish it wasn't so.

I would disagree that if for some bigger names were to be in the squad, the team would have gotten gold. The team already has enormous amount of talent and if they were fundamentally strong they wouldn't be struggling this hard. The problem with US basketball is that it is built around too much hype and showmanship. US still has the most atheletic and talented players in the world but they lack team players, which is so essential when it comes to playing a team sport. NBA players constantly whine about not getting enough touches ....being the man..yada yada yada....US basketball needs some big time structure change...or else it wouldn't make champions..Remember when Jordan came to league..he couldn't shoot..but he could do so much..but he worked on it..and in the 90's he made sure he got all his teamates involved and as result won so many championships...so players like Carmelo Anthony and lot of the younger players should learn the game before spitting premature comments like....they are gonna get guaranteed GOLD.

The greatest joke with the Olympic gose to Paul Hamm. That guy have no dignity, honor and concept of fair play. It's a typical American attitude. Even when the IOC asked him to give up the medal, he's hiding and running around the states trying to gain smypathy. What a shame. Remember one of the swimmer who got the silver medal with Pierson backed Pierson, even when Pierson was disqualified. That's an honorable man. When it comes to American, they show their true color. It's not that America is running out of medal, then it's understanable. How about the Sanchez who's a born American but played for Dominician Republic and got the gold for that nation. That's an honorable man.
Paul Hamm shows what an American spirit lies infront of the world....bullies, arrogant, selfish and no respect for the other nation, forget about the spirit of Olympic where nations come together and have good times.

About Hamm I think it is kinda tricky. Yes, the Korean was robbed with medal but again Refs made the mistake. It would be dissapointing for him to return the medal once you have already gone through that emotion. Its like asking a girl out and she says yes..but she goes out with somebody else...that would suck... but if you don't someone else will be dissapointed...I say if Hamm doesn't return his medal.I dont think he will be the bad guy ...but if he does he will be even greater of a champion..people will definitely remember him...so if I was him I would return the medal....as for the authority I say..they should hand out two medals..which is the best thing to do..

I don't know if you guys saw this or not, but the womens soccer final "should" have been won by Brazil. They were the more dominant team with more flair. I am happy for the US women because they helped revolutionize the best game in the world here in the US, but is'nt a deliberate hand-ball in the D-area an automatic penalty? Did you guys see that too right before that Waumbach chick scored for the Yanks? First they destroy cultures with their globalization, now they are controlling our information with their stupid media....looking more and more like Animal Farm to me!
