TPS Holders--Anyone having issue renewing their drivers license in Massachusetts? Mine was sent to USCIS with a case number which apparently might take unto 40 days to figure out. Anyone else having the same issue? Didn't renew my work permit so took the old expired work permit which worked last time I renewed.

Same thing happened to me as well. A USCIS case has been opened for me. There seems to be an issue with SAVE verification. We are waiting for it to resolve. It is ridiculous that e-Verify works and not SAVE.

Did you try printing the federal registrar notice and showing them?

@taremam_bhai Yes, a copy of Federal Register Notice was provided to the clerk at DMV.

@pirati i guess its different in Massachusetts. Mine’s in california and i’ve been renewing it evertime with expired ead and expired i-797. I usually carry the FRN but they dont even look at it. It also depends on the clerk, some are not even aware of the tps papers. Rather than waiting on approval from uscis i think you should just make an appointment with the manager at dmv and explain the situation.

Anyone else had issues and were able to resolve quickly? At this point, I feel like there is nothing else we can do other than wait.

@Pirati,
If I was you, I would make an appointment (They do take walk ins as well but you might have to wait a while) at Watertown RMV and see the guy who's in the very far left at the counter. Pls make sure you have your expired or unexpired work permit with you. That will do the magic. Good luck

P.S, I think his name is Luis( he is very familiar with the situation)
