So, are international students just expected to return to their home countries after finishing college? If that’s the case, then half of the U.S. colleges would probably struggle to stay open—because a significant portion of their revenue comes from international students. These students pay high tuition fees, often without financial aid, and contribute greatly to the academic and economic environment. Yet, after graduation, they’re left with limited job opportunities and complex visa hurdles. It’s a system that benefits from them financially, but offers little long-term support in return.

This is what they have been saying since day 1. Except for the campaign promise of giving green card to US graduates, which he later retracted, they were pretty clear about ending the work authorization for International students. I am not sure why this is surprising to people now!

Universities use federal funds to support research and attract international students. This keeps them competitive. The Trump Administration objects, saying taxpayer money should serve U.S. citizens only. Without OPT, fewer international students will come. If they do not intend to return home after graduation, they are not here solely to study. I fully support the idea that the sole purpose of the F-1 visa is just to study. If after graduation, your native country does not provide you a job, that is your problem. How is that the U.S.'s problem? कुरा त सही हो। Thank you. Thank you.

Right now, many international students are already confused about whether it’s worth coming to the U.S. I’ve spoken to a few who recently got their visas, and even they said, “If we can’t get a job after graduation, what’s the point of spending crores of rupees on tuition?” In the end, it feels like all we’re left with is regret. अन्त्यमा हातमा सुन्ने बाहेक केही लाग्दैन भन्ने महसुस भइरहेको छ।
