He also was sentenced Friday for witness tampering, after he went to the family's native Nepal to try to talk the victim out of testifying. The girl was visiting Nepal to attend a sister's wedding. Dev worked for the State Water Resources Control Board as an engineer. Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig says Dev and his wife brought the victim, a distant relative, to live with them in 1999.
