My parents received both initial two doses of COVISHIELD vaccines when they were in Nepal seven months ago. I've been trying to get some information on whether they can get Pfizer/Moderna booster shot in US. We went through regular pharmacy and they advised that we'll need to consult with primary care physician which they don't have. When I consulted with mine they said they can start with initial doses of Pfizer/Moderna and not the booster shot. Has anyone gone through similar situation in US ? Please share your experience. Appreciate it.

@Bikram_Gurung : My parents got 2 doses of (Vero Cell) in Nepal but when they were here, I had them take the 2 doses of Pfizer as well. So did my friend's parents who got Moderna. Consulted with some of my friends who are doctors in US and Nepal. They advised to get the doses here. If you tell CVS/Walgreens, they will definitely tell you to consult our PCP as they don't want to risk by advising.(Just go for Dose 1 and don't even mention about vaccine in Nepal) As you see in US too , people who got Pfizer/JnJ doses are getting Moderna Booster and vice versa. Costco had an approved list of vaccines and Covishield- Astrazeneca was on the approved list. So, my parents were able to get the Pfizer-Booster shot. Thanks for all the feedback.
