Based on the recent USCIS announcement "https://travel.state.gov/conte...", looks like the embassy or counselor directly schedules a visa interview based on the submitted DS 260 form (without sending documents to KCC for second letter (no second letter)). Does that mean a DV 2022 winner inside USA will directly be called for Visa interview based on DS 260 submission without applying adjustment of status (without I-485 form submission)? No, you must file for Adjustment of Status if you are already in the US and are trying to adjust status from non-immigrant to immigrant status. DS-260 only applies to people applying through consular processing . Anyone adjusting status while in the US needs to file form I-485. Last edited: 18-Dec-21 11:40 PM

Thank you, Galactus. I was curious since I had also submitted DS-260 form being inside USA and selected (in DS-260 form) a nearby USCIS field office for interview.
