Wondering if anyone here had any recent experience of transiting through Doha. Has a long layover so planning to get a hotel outside of airport and would love to hear any recent experiences.

Rent a sleeping pod and free internet. It should around 60$.

You can book a hotel through Discover Qatar for $14/night but it seems like there is a hassle to enter Qatar with their requirements. So just wanted to know if it’s worth it from someone who recently experienced it.

The DOHA airport has the free lounges for Male and Female. You can use the paid lounges too by hours ( minimum 6 hours for around $60 -$100). Also, you get the free meal if the transit is more than 12hours, you just need to show your boarding pass at the restaurant/ cafe.
