You can linger Nepal's divorce forever. Don't just give up! Meantime become a citizen here. Nepalese lawyers are likely to deceive you and give you false information to negotiate the She just gets properties from you, and after loan taken care of and divided among children. Once you become a citizen of this nation, the court system does not have authority over you in Nepal. The worst case is that Nepal’s court may put hold on bank and properties of your parents. You just have to play smartly

You don’t have to be citizen of this country to file the divorce, I think. Since you live here, you should able to file divorce here. Send paperwork to Nepal’s court. Where is your wife? Did she ever lived here? Is she in Nepal?

This may vary by states, but you can file divorce in the USA if you have not lived together for certain period of time, which can be based on abandonment as well.

I will PM you! The gals been using Nepalese weak laws. Nepals court is aware of scam going around; these days Judge have been hard on gals who are trying to get share of inheritances. Don’t feel discouraged

Comtest jurisdiction bhaneko, she is fighting to.keep court proceeding in Nepal. There are certain residency requirement for filing divorce, if she has already filed in Nepal then court here in US might defer to where wife is currently living. If she is US permanent resident then you might be able to contest jurisdiction. As someone said above, current situation in Nepal is much different and boys will also have some ability to fight it off. Having said that Nepali.lawyer will try to.scare you and get most money out.of you. I have seen that very closely where lawyer from husband side secretly made a deal with wife said and was trying to.settle for more money. It is criminal and unethical but it happens more often than we think. So bottomline is do not rush, fight it off and delay as much as possible. BTW where in Nepal, are you looking for lawyer? I don't know but others might be able to have input.

Bro, get a different lawyer. Your case sounds very complicated. Also you can go to Family law court and talk to the Clerk in person and they can guide you through the next step. Every state has different rules so it depends on where you live. Divorce is nasty and painful. Good luck.
