I'm scheduled to start a new job next month but have not received my OPT yet. Based on processing times on trackitt, it looks like some cases have been pending for over 100 days. Has anyone used the TPS federal notice to show employment authorization? Did you run into problems with HR? This probably wouldn't be an issue if I had an EAD card in hand but having an expired TPS EAD card with auto renewal notice could be a problem?

thanks for letting me know...did they have any questions about the notice? also, what industry do you work in... I think it may work fine with HR in a tech company, maybe not in a finance company.

They can verify through e-verify if they are registered, and have a tps ead with your a number. You can also check you status there. The results will show you can legally work as of the date, but wont show expiration. Once you use TPS ead you are technically abandoning F1 as well as the OPT privilege. This will affect your future status, so I would be careful on that front.

If you have legal rights to work then they can not choose and pick what docs they like to see. Call DHS if they tell you otherwise

@teroobaau what kind of job do you do in bio-tech industry? I am Going through a biomed engineering course. I am trying to get some info for jobs after my graduation. Is equipment service industry a good choice? Any info you could provide would be very valuable. Thanks.

I am in IT department of Biotech. Out company is pharmaceutrical. Equipement service is something like Boston Scientific or like that. Two of my friends work in that industry, one is happy , other is happy but not satisfied with pay scale.

I wouldn’t say denied, but my employer asking for mr than just federal notice. They are also asking for a receipt notice saying i applied.

My employer asked me if they sent me a personal letter saying it was extended, i told them they dont send personal letter they only publish the Federal Notice. To be on the safe side I'm applying for EAD Last edited: 16-May-19 12:04 PM
